The most important thing that DnD requires is an active imagination! But there are some useful things that you can bring along to help enhance your experience. For beginners, it is not expected that you buy miniatures or dice as we can loan you those to start with. But we do recommend the following:
- pencil
- rubber
- paper
If you have dice, character sheets, minis, manuals, you are welcome to bring them! As you get more into the game its worth buying your own dice and having spare character sheets.
It is best if you can try to create a character before you come along. If you’re not sure how to do this there are lots of tutorials online but also your DM can help you! The DnD players’ manual also has information about character set up but you may choose to get into the game more before making the financial commitment to buy one.
Your DM will ensure to bring the things needed for your game like the maps, story line, visuals tools etc.
